My favourite day and similar to handling difficult conversations

Winter plants with writing in front saying How Winter Solstice is like handling difficult conversations

Me making the most of outdoors in winter daylight and more time on my feet after a summer lost to an Achilles rupture!

Winter Solstice, my FAVOURITE day:

Longer days coming... (pic shows that I found berries in my fave colour, even when the light was going! 🧑)

AND the Solstice is surprisingly like handling difficult conversations ➑️

1. Going into it is the darkest point.

It's often uncomfortable at first

(Courage starts here!)

2. It's a turning point, not final.

Once spoken, it's a pivot!

3. It's an opportunity to pause and reflect.

Slowing down leads to responding rather than reacting.

4. Light returns slowly.

Braving the subject heads TOWARDS a solution, it's not a one-stop-talking-shop.

5. Without it, it'd stay darker.

Avoiding uncomfortable conversations builds resentment or misunderstanding.

Facing it moves forward.

6. It's across many cultures, marking the Solstice.

Hard conversations are universal too... Everyone has moments needing truth and vulnerability to make progress.

are you a winter solstice fan?
